Late summer in Maine

Hello,
I thought I would do an update on the gallery before the summer leaves in Maine. It has been a beautiful summer with just the right amount of rain to keep everything green and the flowers beautiful. I was over at Aldermere farm yesterday where they raise Belted Galloway Cows. They had their annual art show and sale. I along with the other gallery artists Kathy Lane and Diana Maddocks had paintings in the show. It is a benefit for the farm and a beautiful show. I hope we each sold something.
I also stopped by the harbor in Rockport. It was a quientessential day in Maine.
I took some pictures of the boats and was inspired by the scene.
The economy is still hurting sales but we are hanging in there. We do new paintings all of the time and enjoy showing our work to visitors. Diana Maddocks who has worked in the gallery for 3 summers now has some of her watercolors in the gallery, Her style and subject matter compliments that of mine and those done by Kathy Lane.
The website for the gallery www.windingwaywatercolors.org will soon have an online gallery shop for purchase of originals, prints, notecards, KITTY KARDS and KITTY KALENDARS and our new product for the summer, "Watercolor Lessons in a Bag"
This cotton bag contains everything one needs to start doing their own watercolors.
The lesson book is by Charles Evans,a wonderful British watercolorist, who makes it easy to learn the watercolor techniques. The "Bag" has created interest in the gallery and we have sold quite few.
I just returned from Ireland and was inspired by the sheep, green fields and rock walls so these probably will find their way into my paintings.
Fall will soon be here in Maine and the "leaf peepers" will be arriving. The gallery plans fall hours. Enjoy the rest of your summer wherever you are and watch for new paintings on the website and the opening of the online gallery store.
